We found this cognac in an old cellar, the owners of which ceased making cognac many years ago. The cellar was in the region of Salles d’Angles, on the western side of Grande Champagne.

- Aroma:
- A hint of vine leaves and jasmine with green walnuts, cedar, mangosteen and dry spice aromas
- Ageing:
- Small cellars of medium dampness in 350 litre LImousin oak barrels.
- Distillation:
- Normal Charentais still, probably around 15 - 20 hltrs The stills were quite old and of traditional shape and quite likely to be coal or wood fired.
- Flavour:
- Initially one detects toast, a hint of liquorice and truffle but it develops with pear, kumquat and grapefruit peel all mixed with cloves, mushroom and ginger.

- Ugni Blanc possibly some Folle Blanche

- Many people say that the chalk here is more porous and allows the vines better penetration to the underground streams ultimately leading to high quality grapes.
