A pure, special, limited edition 1917 cognac from the top cru that shows off many of the traditional skills of the period. Made in a 25hl still, it was then aged in medium, toasted oak for about 18 months before being transferred to old barrels. This complex and powerful cognac has many fine characteristics of lime, grapefruit peel, angelica, walnuts and spices and is a fine example of early twentieth century distillation and ageing.

Additional Information
- Aroma:
- Grapefruit and lime with dry oak and nuts combined with thyme and yeast.
- Ageing:
- Aged initially in new oak for longer than normal, the cognac has spent most of its life in old oak barrels.
- Distillation:
- Made on a 25 hectolitres still.
- Flavour:
- A complexity of dry fruit and nut flavours. Lime and angelica along with walnuts and dry spices combine with a grapefruit peel and kumquat finish.
- Grape Variety:
- Ugni Blanc
- Reduction & Strength:
- A small reduction from its natural strength has enhanced some of this cognac's natural complexity.
- Viticulture:
- The area where this was made is close to the river Né. The chalk here is particularly porous and the vines grow well along this side of the river where their roots are said to penetrate up to thirty metres into the ground.
