Prunier is the oldest cognac house in Cognac. Historically, probably the most important cognac negoçiant in the region who has large stocks of older style cognacs. Their own style is recognisable and follows on from those supplied as early as the 18th century when drier hazel and floral tones were dominant. The company, founded by Jean Prunier, remains in family hands to this day, with the 10th and 11th generations managing the business. Prunier is also the proprietor of the oldest residence in Cognac, built around 1490, it is affectionately known as ‘La Vieille Maison’ (The Old House). This historic building has been the symbol of the Prunier brandy for over a century.
