- Distillation:
- Traditional armagnac is distilled once in a small continuous still called an alembic which issues a spirit between 60 and 62 degrees.
- Flavour:
- Flavours of rancio and light notes of coffee. Full and elegant in the mouth with a long and strong finish.
- Grape Variety:
- Mainly Ugni Blanc but a proportion of Baco is also used
- Reduction & Strength:
- Cask strength. Natural reduction from storing in wood
- Viticulture:
- The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes
