Additional Information
- Aroma:
- Very fruity bouquet with lively orange aromas and touches of perfume.
- Ageing:
- All Castarede armagnacs are well aged in oak casks. The cellars are next to the Baise river ensuring that they are always damp.
- Distillation:
- Single distillation at around 58 – 60 degrees. This provides more complex aromas and taste
- Flavour:
- Light, elegant, refreshing fruity flavours with an interesting, long spicy finish
- Grape Variety:
- Mainly Colombard.
- Reduction & Strength:
- Limited reduction with distilled water
- Viticulture:
- The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes
