One of Cognac’s most famous names, founded in 1795 by Jean Dupuy, a local grower, and Jean-Antoine Otard de la Grange, a local landowner. The company flourished sufficiently to buy the 16th century Chateau de Cognac and become one of Cognac’s Big Three in the early 19th century. It is thought that this bottle of 1878 was bottled in the 1930s, having been aged for 50 -60 years. A beautiful tan colour, it was produced in the region now known as Grande Champagne. The bottle has been resealed so although it is a little low on the shoulder, we know that the cognac is still in good condition.
